This garden had no plants in it when I was employed to fill the tiny planting beds with exuberant, lush planting that disguised the boundaries and provided year-round interest in a contemporary style. My solution was a garden filled with a variety leaf form, predominantly evergreen, but with some acers to provide brightly coloured summer foliage. The colour mainly comes from the range of foliage colours, plus just a few flowering herbaceous plants to provide tiny splashes of colour throughout the year.

Plants include a variety of Acers, Astelia, Fatsia japonica, Tree fern, Agapanthus, Yucca, Physocarpus and Bamboo. There is a circular stone water feature surrounded with ferns, Carex, Phormium and an Acer.
