The Gold Award winning ‘ Front Garden ' displayed at the Great Gardening Show in 2006 was cleverly designed so that a car can be parked on the garden without destroying any of the planting, so that it is an attractive feature whether or not the car is present.
Gravel has been used extensively so that rain water can percolate gradually through the ground and not create the problems of flash flooding associated with most paved surfaces. The planting, in shades of silver and purple was mostly drought tolerant, saving on watering and providing a haven for insects & birds.
