Prior to the redesign the attractive York Stone path existed, but the planting either side of it consisted of various overgrown and mismatched shrubs. These were replaced with an avenue of shrub roses, surrounded by cottage garden plants in shades of silver, pink & purple, spilling over onto the path and gradually increasing in height either side of the path. A rose and clematis covered pergola is located at the entrance.
